Wilkes-Barre Area Preschool

The Preschool program (for fully potty-trained children ages 3—5 with a ratio of children to staff of 10:1) includes a comprehensive center-based curriculum.

The centers include: Reading (and computers), Art, Math/Science, and Housekeeping. After a structured activity time, children choose a center and can move between centers if they wish - providing them with a feeling of control over their activities.

ShowLetter3

During the school year. the curriculum is based on the alphabet—with activities in reading, math, science and art designed around the letter of the week.

The summer curriculum is theme based, allowing the children to explore different topics through art, reading, math and science projects.

The computer center allows all preschoolers to use educational programs, building fine motor skills, listening and comprehension, problem solving and social skills while having fun.

Wilkes-Barre Area Kindergarten

The Kindergarten Program (ratio of 10:1) is for children who attend either full or half day kindergarten.  Children who attend a half-day kindergarten spend the rest of the day (either morning or afternoon depending on their school schedule) at Curious Kids. Kindergarteners  participate in an activity period and outside play time (weather permitting) as well as free play.  Children on a full-day kindergarten schedule follow the school age program schedule.

Curious Kids also supervises homework for all kindergarten and school age children.

After School Program

The School Age Program (ratio of 12:1) allows parents or guardians a safe  environment for their children to be before and after school. ShowLetter8
